The Simpson Strong-Tie Strong-Drive stainless steel SDS Heavy-Duty Connector Screw is a 0.250" diameter, high-strength structural wood screw designed for heavy-duty wood-to-wood, and engineered wood connections. Made from 316 stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance, it installs easily without predrilling thanks to its Type-17 point - although we always encourage predrilling especially into hard woods as it prevents splitting.
The SDS screw has been extensively tested for performance and reliability, offering the same smooth, split-reducing installation as the standard SDS line - now in a stainless-steel option ideal for use on your seaside projects.
The SDS screws also are available in a double-barrier coated version, which is a better, more economic choice for regular use where stainless steel would be overkill.
